“Gentle Persons Club create an upliftingly magnetic sound that’s drenched in pure acoustic harmony. If there’s anyone I’d ever want to sit around a campfire with it’s definitely Gentle Persons Club.”- Amelia Vandergast, A&R Factory
Weight in the Water marks the first single/video from our debut EP All We Need.
The video was shot at Curtis Falls at Mt Tambourine in QLD. The song refers to the healing powers of a natural body of water which can be used as a tool to help let go of things that build up over the course of our lives, and the loss of connectedness to mother nature and each other. It talks of facing yourself with all your cravings, addictions and stories that play out in our minds. It also draws attention to the relationships that can support or hinder each other’s growth and recovery.
We worked hard with young videographer Zach Finlayson, fresh out of his degree and in the early stages of his business, Fin. Productions. We met numerous times to storyboard & hone thoughts before the shoot. We shot in one day and Zach edited over the next month. The video light-heartedly leads us into the theme of the song: the band (the picnickers) are led on a transformative journey into the nature of things seen through the eyes of our very own super hero ‘Natureman’.
Gentle Persons Club and Fin. Productions are teaming up yet again to make music videos for Stumbling Block and All We Need, coming soon to a computer screen near you.
